Stemming from humble beginnings, the TshiBerry Boutique Bed & Breakfast honours the memory of our loving grandmother Rebecca Mmatshoane Maithufi or 'Mmaberry' as she was fondly known. Through Mmaberry's generosity, a culture of hospitality was instilled upon her children and grandchildren, where her legacy continues to this day on the very land that she left behind.
Mmaberry would often host strangers for months on end, feeding and clothing them as they searched for work in nearby mines. As kids, we grew accustomed to being surrounded by strangers, always being respectful to them as they were elders, and eventually even enjoying a sense of protection they presented when they were around. In those days, a full house was not uncommon, as the hosted job seekers would invite their own relatives from far and nearby villages to join in and delight in Mmaberry's hospitality.
Inspired by and honouring the memory of our loving grandmother, the idea of creating a welcoming environment to be enjoyed by all, was born. One of the grandchildren, Tshiamo, was instructed to care for and maintain everything that was left behind by Mmaberry. Through these instructions, Tshiamo Mmaberry’s grandson and his wife joined together to create and care for the TshiBerry Boutique Bed & Breakfast. We invite you to relax and enjoy every moment of your stay with us, as we extend every kindness and courtesy your way.
Allow yourself a rejuvenating experience in our well-decorated rooms, all enhanced with an African ambience. Every room guarantees this with comfortable chairs as well as a desk should you have business that you need to handle. Terms & Conditions
- The property (you) must offer the 15% saving to all verified members
- Verification is done automatically at the time of an enquiry. It is at the property’s discretion whether to offer the saving for a telephonic enquiry. (As you have no means to verify the membership number, it is advisable to get them to do a formal enquiry so they can be verified).
- If the property is currently running a "Special" greater than 15% then the "Special" price will apply. (No further savings needs to be offered). EXCEPT in the case where the "Special" is lower than 15%. In that case the 15% will apply.
Example: A property offering a 10% discount, must offer an additional 5% discount to valid members - so they get a total 15% saving. - The property must offer valid members the saving all year round. (Properties that pick and chose in which seasons to participate run the risk of being removed from the programme completely. Allowing selective participation defeats the integrity of this initiative).
- The property must not inflate the price before the 15% is applied. Prices displayed should be the rack rate. (The official or advertised price of a room).
- The property must honour any bookings made while the property was participating as a $elect Stays property.
- The property must honour the agreement and the spirit in which the initiative is designed to benefit local tourism.
